New Brighton Beach is a popular suburb of Christchurch on New Zealands South Island. The first thing you will notice is the pier, built in the 90’s and reaches 300m out into the ocean. A good ground swell is required for optimum surf conditions here making it a rather inconsistent spot.
Keeping the theme of our New Zealand bead collection, we used a black core which is then encased in clear glass. The bead is then wrapped with a stringer of white and turquoise glass representing the pier stretching out over the blue sea.
